The yellow-naped Amazon is a sizable green bird with a black beak and an eye-catching yellow patch on its neck. This bird is primarily green, with a few sparse yellow feathers on the head or neck. A reddish and dark green line runs over the underside of the short tail.
Habitat/Native Region
These birds, which are often regarded as a subspecies of the yellow-crowned Amazon parrot, are indigenous to northern South America and the Pacific side of Central America. They are mostly found in northwest Costa Rica and southern Mexico.

Yellow-naped Amazons are fantastic little birds, but as they get older, especially the males, they become feisty, if not hostile. Their violent attacks on their owners are well known for their mood swings. When making person buy, take into account getting a hen because females are usually softer. Children should not handle yellow napes because they have dangerous beak bites.
Although not as loud as some others, these parrots do occasionally scream. They are excellent talkers and singers, though. Watch what people say, because a person can teach these birds to speak with a very large vocabulary and a very human-like accent. They are known to pick up words a person did prefer the bird to forget.
Care
Only seasoned bird owners should keep yellow-naped Amazon parrots. They need a lot of care, therefore the owner should schedule daily time for one-on-one contact with the bird. For the creation and maintenance of a strong link, this socialization is crucial.
These birds require social connection to maintain their health and happiness and they thrive on it. Birds who are neglected may exhibit destructive tendencies and despair. Physical and mental issues like pulling out feathers and biting other people can result from depression and anxiety.
