Description
White English Bulldogs stand out from other English Bulldogs mostly due to their white coats. Sometimes WEBs will have large dark patches on their bodies or a speckled coat in addition to being mostly white. White English Bulldogs else resemble typical English Bulldogs.
White English Bulldogs typically have broad shoulders, underbites that clearly show the bottom incisors, and broad heads. The forehead, head, and body typically have large skin folds. The eyes are black and rounded. Additionally, they have an inverted jaw, sharp teeth, fleshy lips that drool, a short muzzle with folds over the nose that resemble a rope, and skin that hangs down from behind the neck. Additionally, they have short, strong legs that give them a distinctive gait and a strong, base-wide stance.
Short and fine-textured is the coat. English Bulldogs are medium-sized dogs with broad, muscular chests and stocky, enormous shoulders. Their expression is tender and compassionate.
Genes for Coat Colors
A study from Uppsala University, SLU, and the Broad Institute demonstrates that abnormalities in the MITF gene, which is essential for the healthy development of pigment cells, are the reason why dogs have white coats. Some Bulldogs have white coats because of the alteration in MITF gene regulation, which prevents all pigment cells from making it to the dog’s skin during embryonic and foetal development.
Origin
Originating in 16th and 17th century southern Georgia and northern Florida.
Temperament
The White English Bulldog is a guard dog for both people and animals. Even in marshes, it is a controller and retriever of the most aggressive livestock. It is adequate as a general hunter for everything from squirrels in trees to bears. The WEB, a medium to large dog created as an all-purpose farm and stock dog primarily for defense of such, is a very old and extremely rare breed in its true form. It is devoted to and passionately guards its master, his family, his property, his cattle, and especially his children. As with all dogs, this one will submit to its handlers if you are its genuine pack leader. The WEB is an adequate hunting dog but was not bred to be one.
As Pet
Exercise
Seeks a job to do. The dog must be taken for at least a long daily walk if it is between employment, such as between hunting seasons.
Living Condition
Large, open spaces with freedom to roam are characterised as the ideal living situation for a farm dog. The majority struggle to survive indoors or in kennels. These dogs have tasks to do and work to do. If this is not permitted, the dog may exhibit destructive behaviour and/or fail to thrive, which could very easily result in the dog’s death.
Grooming
Almost no grooming is required.
