Description
Size: 4-7lbs
The Toybob cat is sometimes described as one of the smallest cat breeds, however, it is important to note that the breed is not a scaled-down variation of another cat species. A naturally petite cat with a bobbed tail, the Toybob has been around for over 30 years in Russia.
The Toybob comes in various colors and has a coat that is either short or semi-long.
Behavior
Activity Level: High
Social needs: Enjoy and need human companionship
They are quite affectionate little kitties. They are pleasant, lively, interested, and not overly energetic. They enjoy being near their owners and acting as lap cat. The Toybob are hilarious when they play and will do everything to have a good time. Toybobs, like the majority of cats, are incredibly balanced. You shouldn’t be startled if you discover your cat in unusual, high places in your house since they enjoy climbing.
Origin/History
Toybobs are not the oldest breed. Its beginnings may really be traced back to 1983 in Russia’s Rostov Region. A stray kitten that resembled a conventional Siamese was adopted by a cat owner named Elena Krasnichenko. The crimped tail, though, was a definite difference. When she crossed her domestic shorthair cat with her original bobtail cat, a kitten was born. The kitten, whom she gave the name “Kutciy,” served as the parent of the Toybob breeding line.
Care as a Pet
Diet/Feeding
A general balanced cat diet that includes meat, fish, vegetables, cereals, cottage cheese, yoghurt, and other foods is advised. However, it’s also wise to avoid giving your bob a lot of milk products because doing so may increase the likelihood that it will develop lactic intolerance.
Grooming needs
Comb its fur once or twice a week to maintain it in prime shape, much like the Shorthair. Although neither variety sheds much, the coat does alter with the seasons.
