The Australian Miniature Goat Breed

The Australian Miniature Goat Breed

Description:

The Australian Miniature Goat is a small-sized, athletic, fashionable animal with all of its body parts in proportion to its size. The animal, including an alert attitude, balance, fashion sense, and overall symmetry, must display a natural presence.

Behavior:

Easy to train, kind and lovable. They have a social, amiable, and tranquil personality.

Benefits/Uses:

Mostly a breed for pets. A well-bred tiny female may supply the family with enough milk each day, some of which can be used to create cheese, yoghurt, and even soap, for families searching for backyard milking pets. It’s a good idea to have a back-up plan if you’re going to be away for an extended period of time. The garden benefits greatly from the high nitrogen content of goat dung. Miniature goats make wonderful pets and can be raised among a variety of animals, including horses, cattle, sheep, alpacas, and many more. Miniature goats are frequently employed to remove weeds and overgrown bush land because they can run over terrain that is sometimes hilly or inaccessible to larger animals.

Origin/History:

Australian breeders created the Australian Miniature Goat around 2000. To ensure hardiness of the animals and create a “designer” animal ideal for the small land holder that met the needs of the individual owner — milk, fleece, hair, weed eater, companion, and all-around perfect pet — the breed was initially developed by mating carefully selected smaller stature animals of excellent type from purebred and crossbred full sized goats and small Australian bush goats, cashmere and angora goats.
