Thai Constellation

Thai Constellation

Because of a lack of chlorophyll, the leaves feature cream and green marbled patterns. The cream-colored splatter on its green leaves is reminiscent of a starry night sky, thus the name “Constellation.” But, before we get into Thai Constellation Monstera care, let’s take a look at where it comes from.

The Thai Constellation is a yellow-to-white variegated Monstera Deliciosa that was created in a lab. It was created at a tissue culture laboratory in Thailand, thus the name.

Because the Monstera Deliciosa is the parent plant of the Thai Constellation, we can learn a lot about how to care for it. The Monstera Deliciosa is endemic to tropical Central America, ranging from southern Mexico to Panama.

Care Routines:

Water:

They are more sensitive to root rot than the parent Monstera Deliciosa. So appropriate irrigation is essential. Before watering again, make sure the top few inches of soil are dry, or use a moisture meter.

Water your Thai Constellation once a week in the spring and summer, and less frequently in the winter. Perspiration on the leaves (drips of water on the tips) and thick, dense soil are signs of overwatering.

Soil requirements

The soil plays a vital role in the irrigation equation. When selecting a soil for your Thai Constellation Monstera, adequate drainage should be your primary consideration. The soil should be kept wet but not waterlogged or mushy.

  • A moss pole sprayed with diluted fertilizer is also appealing.

Temperature:

The Thai Constellation, like the Monstera Deliciosa, prefers warm conditions between 65 and 80 degrees Fahrenheit. Anything less or more than that will limit its development. Or force it to cease developing entirely.

Humidity:

Thai Constellations are tropical plants that thrive in moisture. For the best potential growth, they require at least 60%. Drier circumstances will cause the leaves of this exquisite plant to darken, get crispy, and drop.

Fertilizer

Your Thai Constellation has to be moderately fertilized with an indoor plant fertilizer every 4-6 weeks during the growing season (Spring/Summer). Liquid indoor plant fertilizers are a practical approach to provide your plant with the nutrition it needs.
