Usually red. However, others have red hair that is both red and black and appear in a variety of red tints. Some people resemble black people.
Physical Appearance
A huge, red hog known as the Red Wattle has a fleshy wattle connected to each side of its neck.
Hair can be long and curly or short and straight. The ears are upright with drooping ends, the nose is thin with a small curvature, and the head and jowl are clean and lean. The rump or back end is somewhat arched, and the body is short-coupled.
Characteristics and Genetics
Red hogs with wattles have existed in North America since at least the middle of the 1800s, however its origin and history are unknown. These ancestors are said to have been brought across the Gulf of Mexico and dispersed across the entire nation. The Red Wattle hog’s present origins can be traced to Texas descendants of these wattled pigs from the 20th century.
These wattles are a single gene trait with an unknown function that often passes to offspring of crossbreeding. Due to the breed’s rarity in North America, they are particularly valuable genetically.
