As Pet

Pink-speckled shrimp goby

  • Tank size

It needs an aquarium that is at least 30 gallons in size, with lots of loose coral rubble, room for swimming, and a sand bottom for burrowing. It is territorial and rarely attacks other fish, but unless they are a mated pair, it will fight with other fish of its own species. A tight-fitting cover is necessary since it might attempt to jump out of the aquarium or other small openings.

  • Diet

A variety of mysis shrimp, brine shrimp with added vitamins, table shrimp, and frozen carnivore meal preparations should all be part of the diet of the spotted watchman goby. Feedings should occur at least twice daily.

  • Water Condition

The pH range for the Pink Spotted Shrimp Goby is 8.1-8.4, the salinity is 1.020-1.025, and the temperature range is 74°F to 82°F (24°C to 28°C).
