Peacock Fern

peacock-fern

One of the most peculiar plants you could see in and around freshwater aquariums is the peacock fern. This is due to a variety of elements. When viewed from various angles, it seems to be a slightly different colour. In contrast to its original colour, blue appears to be the most frequently seen hue. Light turns purple when it is reflected from a different angle. It almost looks brown at one point. The plant turns dark green when there is little or no light. The stems exhibit the same characteristic. They could appear blue, green, or brown, depending on the environment and angle of observation.

Space

The peacock fern is a plant with minimal area requirements. This means that peacock ferns can survive in even a modest 10-gallon aquarium. You can use your judgement after that. Avoid overcrowding your aquarium with plants because this may reduce the amount of light the fish receive.

Temperature

Peacock ferns prefer temperatures between 55 and 80 degrees Fahrenheit (12 and 26 degrees Celsius).  A particularly resilient plant is the peacock fern. Considering the vast temperature range, this is pretty obvious.

pH Level

A peacock fern is a plant that does not live in water, hence the pH level is not a criteria that applies to it. It is perfect for terrariums because it dwells close to the water. The environment must be kept neutral or only slightly acidic, though.

Water Hardness

The peacock fern is a plant that does not live in water, hence the water hardness characteristic does not apply to it. It is perfect for terrariums because it dwells close to the water.
