Description:

Scientific name: Dasia olivacea    

Life span: Unknown

Dasia olivacea mature individuals have a green back with bronze scales extending from the flanks and 12 bands of ocelli (eye-like markings). The underside of the head is a bluish to yellowish green color, while the head is generally a dark olive-green shade with black patterns.

Native Region/Habitat

Southeast Asia south of 15° north, including sections of Burma, Thailand, Viet Nam, Laos, Malaysia, Singapore, Borneo, Java, and surrounding Indonesian islands, as well as the Indian Andaman and Nicobar Islands, is home to Dasia olivacea. It is only known from one Cambodian area.

Care As a pet/In captivity:

Keep the temperature between 26 and 30 degrees Celsius during the day and 22 to 25 degrees Celsius at night. The ideal way to do this is to use a heat pack under the substrate beneath the spot lamp and a basking spot of about 60W at one end of the enclosure.
