Naturally, Nicaragua and Costa Rica are where you can find the Nicaraguan slider most frequently. They occupy areas such as Lake Nicaragua, Lake Managua, and the other lakes and streams. They may lay up to 35 eggs at a time, with an incubation period of about 100 days, and they will nest up multiple times throughout the season.
Care as a Pet
Habitat
They primarily reside in Nicaragua and Costa Rica. Nicaraguan sliders are raised on a variety of farms, most of which are close to where they were born.
Feed
Nicaraguan sliders are more carnivorous at birth than they are herbivorous as they get older. Tadpoles, snails, crayfish, shrimp, fish, insects (any form of living insect), and insect larvae make up the majority of the food of young (juvenile) turtles. However, they don’t seem to enjoy red wigglers (Eisenia fetida).
Even though they are finicky eaters, they appear to enjoy red leaf lettuce a lot. There is no need to worry if you wish to give one commercial meal because they often consume any brand.
