The miniature American shepherd, an American herding dog breed that ranges in size from small to medium, is similar in size to the Australian shepherd and has a medium-length double coat. Actually descended from the Aussie, the little American shepherd nonetheless has the athleticism and intelligence of its larger counterparts. Every day, the small American shepherd requires a lot of exercise. Additionally, it needs to be properly socialized and trained, areas in which it normally excels. Its grooming requirements are also quite simple.
Exercise
These canines are intelligent and athletic, so they require mental and physical challenges to stay content and healthy. Otherwise, dogs might start to exhibit undesirable behaviors like excessive barking and chewing. Exercise should consist of at least one to two hours each day of walking, jogging, hiking, and fun. Instead of being left to their own devices, they favor engaging in activities with their people.

Nutrition and Diet
Keep clean water on hand at all times for your dog. And feed your dog a diet that is nutritionally balanced. However, you should always keep an eye on treats and other extra food because even a pound of weight increase for a tiny dog can be excessive.
Grooming
The Miniature American shepherd’s coat can be kept and washed easily. It doesn’t require shaving or trimming. To prevent tangles and remove stray fur, brush it at least once every week. Shedding will increase a few times a year, usually in the spring and fall. To keep up with the loose fur during that period, brush at least a couple times every week.
Depending on how unclean it becomes, give your dog a bath every month or so. And once a month, examine its nails to see if they need to be clipped. Inspect its ears for wax buildup, dirt, and irritation at least once each week. And strive to regularly brush its teeth.
