Malthe’s Green-Eared Chameleon

malthes-green-earred-chameleon

Description:

Scientific name: Calumma malthe

Life span: Unknown

The adult male’s snout developed into a rather long, flat, obtuse horn with grooves above and below and huge tubercles. Occipital area is rather flat, with an angled but not pointed back and a broad flap on each side that runs continuously behind the occiput. Low, unevenly sized, short, pointed tubercles make up the dorsal crest. There are neither gular nor ventral median tubercle series. The occiput and occipital flaps’ circular, flat tubercles have different sizes, but none are particularly huge; the majority are almost granular. Larger granules can be found distributed among the small ones along each side of the throat and on the limbs, but they are nearly absent on the side of the torso.
