Strong evergreen climber. Young stems are lustrous and purple-green, hardening to a dark brown colour with finely peeled bark. Trifoliate, dark green leaves with oblong-obovate, up to 12 cm long leaflets. Its flower spikes or racemes were created by nature specifically for bat pollination. The jade vine blossom has a cup-like form, and the bat hangs upside down to consume its nectar.
Growing Conditions
The following criteria must be met for your jade vine to flourish:
Light
To thrive, jade vine requires as much sunlight as possible. It favors direct sunlight or the filtered illumination of a well-lit greenhouse. Winter is not a time of rest for it.
Water
Jade vine uses a lot of water. With plenty of water, it will grow the fastest. Browning of leaves and sluggish, inhibited growth are both effects of water shortage.
Soil
It is advantageous to use potting soil with a rich peat basis and great drainage.
Fertilizer
Throughout the growing season, fertilize with a light liquid fertilizer.
