Grooming

For you and your pet, grooming can be a great way to strengthen your relationship. Regular trimming of their thick, quickly growing nails with a nail clipper or grinder is advised to prevent overgrowth, splitting, and cracking. To prevent a buildup of wax and debris that could cause an infection, examine their ears frequently. You should brush your teeth frequently.

Exercise

An Ibizan hound needs at least a few hours of exercise every day. These canines make terrific running and trekking companions and will benefit from extended walks. In canine sports like agility and tracking, they can also succeed, which can help them expend some of their mental and physical energy. Another excellent approach to cognitively challenge kids is with puzzle toys.

Just bear in mind that they have a strong prey drive because they are sighthounds. When they are outside, keep them in a securely gated area or on a leash to prevent them from running off after perceived prey like small animals. Ibizan hounds are also capable of leaping many feet into the air. Make sure any fencing is high enough to support them by doing so.

Diet and Nutrition

Keep clean water on hand at all times for your dog. and provide your dog a high-quality food with a balanced diet. To make sure you’re giving the right amount, it’s customary to feed two measured meals every day. However, you should always go over the food’s quality, feeding frequency, and kind with your vet. In order to avoid overeating, be careful of snacks and other excess food. Also take note that these dogs have no trouble jumping up on counters and tables to get at food.
