
Description
A species of sea slug belonging to the family Chromodorididae, is called Hypselodoris kanga. The body of the Hypselodoris kanga is blue-grey and has black and yellow markings all over it. At the edge of the mantle, there are blue and black specks. The rhinophores are deep blue with red rhinophores. The gill pinnules are white and have a triangular cross section. Each gill has a reddish-orange inner edge in the upper quarter, a deep blue inner edge in the middle, and a white inner edge at the base. Each gill’s smooth exterior side contains a row of sizable yellow spots and a background hue that is light blue with an upper quarter that is orange-red. Each gill’s two outside corners are bordered with crimson at the tip and dark blue at the base.
Geographical Distribution
This nudibranch was discovered in Kunduchi, Tanzania’s Dar es Salaam. It had previously been recorded all over the West Pacific and Indian Oceans. It is now believed that specimens from the Pacific Ocean belong to distinct species, such as Hypselodoris confetti and Hypselodoris roo. From Mozambique, reports of it have been made.
