Description

Scientific Name: Buthus occitanus

The common yellow scorpion, Buthus occitanus, belongs to the Buthidae family of scorpions. The Middle East, North Africa, and Europe all experience it. The size of B. occitanus ranges from 60 to 80 mm, is yellow or golden-brown in colour, and is venomous; nevertheless, the toxicity of this species varies significantly across its range.

Habitat

A species of scorpion called Buthus occitanus can be found across Europe and North Africa. The North African variety is yellowish and very poisonous, in contrast to the darker, milder colour of the European variety.

As Pet

Additionally, although it is still minimally venomous in comparison to many other species, it is more venomous than the Pandinus and Heterometrus species. You won’t have any problems as long as your enclosure is safe and you don’t try to hold them with your bare hands.
