European Burmese Cat

European-Burmese-cat

Description

 Size: 7-14lbs.

The European Burmese has a moderately sized, softly rounded body, yet it is heavier and more muscular than it appears to be. Expressive eyes come in a variety of colors, from amber to yellow, and have a little upward curve. The long, blunt wedge of the cheekbones tapers the broad cheekbones. It’s defined as being graceful but not delicate.

The European Burmese is a graceful cat that has been bred in 10 colors, including blue, brown, chocolate, and lilac, as well as red, brown-tortie, cream, blue-tortie, chocolate-tortie, and lilac-tortie.

Behavior

 Activity Level: Moderate to high

Social needs: like company of humans and other pets

The European Burmese is a loving, smart, and faithful cat. They enjoy the company and will seek you out, joining you in all your activities. While they could have a favorite family member, it’s likely that they’ll get along with everyone else there together with any guests that drop by.  They remain curious and playful throughout their life. As soon as you sit down, they’ll be in your lap. They are the ideal addition to your household because they quickly make friends with other cats and even dogs.

Origin/History

The first Burmese brought to the West by Dr. Thompson in 1930, Wong Mau, served as the foundation for both the Burmese cat breeds we know today in Europe and North America.

Care as  a Pet

A European Burmese is fairly simple to care for. They don’t need to be bathed, and routine combing with a brush made of rubber will keep shedding in check. All cats naturally “scratch,” so a scratching post ought to be available. Clippers can also be used to reduce pointed claws.

Grooming needs

Weekly brushing is essential for keeping the short coat’s luster, and the cat enjoys receiving attention.
