A short-legged Swedish scent hound dog breed called the Drever is employed to hunt deer and other types of wildlife. Drever was the chosen moniker for the breed in a 1947 poll.
Characteristics
The Drever’s long body and small legs, which they received from the Westphalian Dachsbracke, are its most distinguishing features. Its short fur is white with any colour patterning (but not all white, which has been linked to deafness.) The breed has a long tail and the usual drop (hanging) ears of a hound. The Drever is about 2 cm (less than an inch) shorter than the Westphalian Dachs Bracke. Drevers eat both vegetation and other animals because they are omnivores.

Grooming
Beagles, Bulldogs, and Labradors are examples of dogs with short coats that often require less combing, brushing, and grooming than dogs with long coats, such as Poodles, Border Collies, and Pomeranians. This is because dogs with medium to long hair have much longer coats that are more prone to becoming twisted and matted. As a Drever owner, you should keep an eye on your pet dog’s coat, looking for any mats, knots, or dullness that might indicate they need to be brushed.
Exercise
Drevers are a playful breed that enjoys spending time with their owners. They are also content to lounge on the couch with you as long as they engage in some mentally challenging activity each day. They are excellent outdoor companions for activities like walking, biking, and hiking, and they thrive on a healthy, regular routine. The Drever, who are exceptional hunters, appreciate any activity that enhances their sense of smell and hunting skills. Barn Hunting, Wounded Animal Recon, Shed Hunting, Lure Coursing, Rally, and Agility are all possible ways to burn off the Drever’s energy.
Nutrition
You should give your Drever a formula that will meet his specific digestive demands as he goes through different stages of life. Breed-specific recipes are available from several dog food manufacturers for small, medium, big, and extra-large breeds. The Drever is a breed of medium size. Choosing what to feed your dog is a personal decision, but the best method to choose how frequently to feed him as a puppy and the best adult diet to lengthen his life is to consult your vet and/or breeder. Fresh water that is clean should always be accessible.
