Coleus Care Guide
Light:
Because the patterns on the leaves are the only thing that makes coleus plants beautiful, it’s crucial that you understand the plant’s light needs in order to preserve the markings. Sitting directly in a North, East, or West facing window will be ideal; if the light is diffused, you might get away with a South facing window.Choose a sunny location with bright light for the best results. then frequently keep watering.
Feeding:
Because Coleus isn’t typically a flowering houseplant and you don’t want it to get too big, there’s no need to feed these plants frequently or heavily. In most cases, applying a typical fertilizer feed four times a year (twice in the spring and twice in the summer) is sufficient.
Humidity:
The best technique to raise the humidity around your Coleus and keep the leaves looking spotless is to mist them periodically. That being said, if you’re not a “mister,” don’t worry about it because humidity is not typically a major concern when it comes to these houseplants.
Fertilizer
For Coleus, we advise using a well-balanced all-purpose fertilizer. The 10-10-10 formulas are all viable options. Coleus responds well to Miracle Grow, but before using it, read the directions carefully. If using a slow-release fertilizer mixed into the soil is more convenient for you, do so.
