Role of line bred in carroting:
A Leopard Gecko’s tail has a characteristic called a carrot tail. At least 30% of the base of the Leopard Gecko’s tail must be covered in orange for it to have a carrot tail. The carrot tail is a line-bred feature, meaning that geckos must be bred to other geckos with plenty of carroting in order to produce offspring with more carroting than earlier generations.
Why is the carrot tail called a carrot tail leopard gecko?
Any breed with an orange tail is referred to as a carrot tail. The Sunglow and Tangerine Leopard Gecko made this tail color renowned and it is frequently observed.
