The Carneau pigeon is a sizable domesticated pigeon breed with an attractive appearance that is frequently either red or white. These birds have a proportionate, slim body with light feathers and pinkish-white skin. From the wattle to just over the eye, their head is broad and round, and it gradually slopes down to the nape of the neck.
Their back skull is well formed, and their front skull is quite pronounced. Their beak is medium in length, short, and hefty. Their eyes are large, bright, and spherical. The colour of their eyes depends on the colour of the bird. The cere is bright red in colour, spherical, and beautifully grained. Their breast should be slightly beyond the point of the beak and is broad, conspicuous, and symmetrically proportioned.
The Carneau pigeon has robust wings that are carried close to the body. The flight feathers should be carried across the wings and be about an inch shorter than the tail feathers. A wedge-shaped tail that extends an inch beyond the flights is ideal.
Origin/ Habitat
A domesticated pigeon breed known as the Carneau has been developed over many generations utilising selective breeding to create the most functional utility pigeon conceivable. Pigeons were admired for their capacity to carry messages and convey them over great distances, and this elaborate technique dates all the way back to Ancient Egypt and Rome. Early in the 20th century, Belgian breeder Raymond Carneau attempted to further refine the breed as he sought to produce a robust, resilient upright-posture pigeon. Since then, the Carneau, which is distinguished by its characteristic white flight feathers, has been favoured by fans of competitive racing as well as by farmers who have traditionally trained birds for a range of jobs. Behavior
