The mastiff-like Bulldog is a British dog breed. The British Bulldog or the English Bulldog are other names for it.
Morphology
It is a powerful, substantial dog of medium size, with wrinkles on its face and a pronounced pushed-in nose. Bulldogs are known for having large heads, shoulders, and a noticeable mandibular prognathism. Round, dark, wide-set eyes; thick brow folds; a short muzzle with the distinctive rope or nose roll folds over the nose; hanging skin under the neck; drooping lips and sharp teeth; and an underbite with an inclined jaw. With shades of red, fawn, white, brindle, and piebald, the coat is short, flat, and silky.
Care as a Pet/ In Captivity
Exercise
Although bulldogs are one of the more docile breeds, they are occasionally accused of being sluggish. However, some bulldogs like more active pursuits than simply lounging around. Bulldogs enjoy short daily walks of up to 30 minutes, and some of them yearn for more vigorous activities like off-leash fetch or running around in the dog park. Even in competitive canine sports like obedience and agility, some top-tier bulldogs shine.
Grooming
The bulldog’s short coat requires little maintenance. Any loose hairs can be removed with quick brushing sessions two or three times each week, leaving the coat feeling and looking excellent. The deep wrinkles need extra attention; wipe them with a cotton swab or cotton ball dipped in hydrogen peroxide and then pat them dry with corn flour. Weekly nail trimming should be done in addition to once-weekly ear cleaning with an ear cleaner appropriate for pets. If your bulldog gets dirty, bathe it once a month.
Diet
Bulldogs may consume a variety of meat and seafood, including beef, pig, chicken, lamb, salmon, tuna, and cod. They are also permitted to have eggs, healthy grains like whole wheat, brown rice, and oatmeal, as well as fruits and vegetables like carrots, pumpkin, apples, and berries. In moderation, dairy products like cheese and yogurt can be consumed.
