Physical Appearance
The body of the British Saddleback is broad and deep. Its withers, shoulders, and front legs are surrounded by a white saddle, sheet, or band; some white is permitted on the snout, tail, and hind feet. It has long ears. The coat is silky, fine, and straight.

In 1967, the remaining populations of the two traditional saddleback breeds, the Essex and Wessex Saddleback, were combined. They combined those two pig breeds into a single herdbook.
The British Saddleback pigs are extremely hardy creatures and great foragers. They thrive in large-scale pig farming systems and are well adaptable to local and various climates.
