Braque Du Bourbonnais

braque-du-bourbonnais

A gundog breed with a rugged appearance and a coat that is ticked with liver, fawn, or white is known as the Braque du Bourbonnais. In 1970, Michel Comte made the decision to search for the final canine with Bourbonnais ancestry. Only mixed-breed dogs, some of which exhibited traits similar to the Braque du Bourbonnais, were available.

Appearance

The Bourbonnais has two distinct coat colors, Liver and Fawn, both of which have other names like “wine dregs” and “peach blossom.” A short, dense, fine layer covers the Braque du Bourbonnais. On the back, it is a little coarser and occasionally longer. The hair is finer and shorter on the head and ears. In addition to routine brushing, giving your Braque du Bourbonnais a bath every now and then will keep him clean and looking his best.

Nutrition and Diet

In order to sustain their energy levels, Braque du Bourbonnais needs roughly 18% protein and 5% fat per meal. If they exercise throughout the day, they may need 25% protein and 15% fat daily.  The Braque du Bourbonnais should thrive on a premium dog food, whether it is manufactured commercially or is made at home under the guidance and consent of your veterinarian. Any diet must be suitable for the dog’s age (puppy, adult, or senior). Watch your dog’s calorie intake and weight level because certain dogs are prone to obesity.

Grooming

Regular grooming is crucial for the wellbeing, health, and beauty of your Braque du Bourbonnais. Your Braque du Bourbonnais may become very uncomfortable with an uncared-for coat that has become long, matted, and irritating. Grooming and brushing your Braque du Bourbonnais pet might assist to deepen your bond with them. Brushing with your Braque du Bourbonnais should be a pleasant, stress-free, and comforting experience.

Exercise

Two possibilities for exercise include playing outside, especially in a secured area, or going on frequent walks. Indoor activities like hide-and-seek, chasing a ball that has been pushed across the floor, or practicing new routines can also provide exercise. Outdoor activities like swimming, hiking, and retrieving balls or flying discs are some examples of great ways to expend energy.
