The Border Collie is a medium-sized herding dog breed from Britain. They are descended from landrace sheepdogs that were previously widespread throughout the British Isles but were standardized in the Anglo-Scottish border region, where they are widely regarded as the intelligent breed.
Appearance
Border Collies have a medium-sized body and a typically thick, shedding coat. They have a second coat that has variable texture from smooth to rough and can be periodically curled. The Border Collie can be found in almost every color and pattern known to exist in canines, however the black and white coloration is the most prevalent.

Diet
A raw diet consists of raw meat, raw vegetables, raw bones with meat on them, fish, fish with muscle meats, and dairy products like eggs. Grain is not advised as many Border Collies have allergies to them and find it difficult to digest.
Grooming
The Border Collie has a double coat with a guard coat that is longer than the undercoat and requires grooming every 4 to 8 weeks. During the spring and fall shedding seasons, when their coats change, more regular maintenance is required. The border collie has very simple grooming requirements. Even the minimum trimming required by the show standard for border collies is done to give them a neater appearance around their feet and the backs of their legs.
