Blonde Hognose..

Native Region/Habitat

It only exists in Madagascar.

Behavior:

Hognose snakes are often shy and would rather hide from predators in the wild than to attack. In captivity, they also don’t usually become hostile. After you know how to take care of their housing and feeding schedule, they are rather simple to maintain.

Care As a pet/In captivity:

In captivity, the following actions should be taken:

  • An adult Hognose will prosper in a vivarium that is approximately 24 inches long. You should not begin hatchlings in a vivarium this large since they will become anxious and possibly refuse food.
  • Pinkie mice should be fed to hatchling Hognoses sp. every three or four days. To ensure that the snake has enough food as it grows, you must make its prey larger. Nevertheless, the prey should never be larger than the thickest portion of the Hognoses body.
  • Hognoses sp. don’t need a lot of humidity; a room’s humidity should be between 40 and 50 percent.
  • To mimic what would occur in their natural habitat, the hot end should be between 31 and 33 Celsius (88 and 90 Fahrenheit), and the colder end should be between 25 and 28 Celsius (77 and 82 Fahrenheit), with a dip of a few degrees at night. To prevent overheating, the heat mat ought to contain a thermostat.
