Black Pearl Leopard Gecko

Black-Pearl Leopard Gecko

How black pearls are different from other morphs?

The leopard gecko community is still learning about the black pearl morph. Its all-black nature characterizes it. There are no patterns or additional colors visible. This is uncommon and difficult to breed for. With the exception of having all-black pigmentation rather than no color pigments, black pearl morphs are essentially inverted albino leopard geckos.

The Midnight Blizzard morph, which has a single dark brown color that is almost black, and other hypermelanistic (single color) morphs are connected to the Black Pearl morph.

The goal of breeding Black Pearl is to produce an animal whose body is all black, devoid of any other colors.

These are distinct from Black Night Leopard Gecko morphs because they have a blue-black hue to their hide as opposed to a warm, brown tint.
