Arthrosphaera magna

The Arthrosphaeridae family of pill millipedes includes Arthrosphaera magna.

Appearance

The adult’s head is olive-brown or yellow-brown in color. The second and additional segments are dark brown, producing a narrow stripe with a black band and a pale yellow border.

Distribution

Only found in the forests around the southern coast of India.

Behavior

Their activity peaked between July and October.

During the monsoon season, they typically lay their eggs in the basins of arecanut palms.

Food

They consume plant litter as food.
