Albino Iguana

Albino Iguana

Description:

Scientific name: Iguana sp.

Life span: 10-20 years

Albino iguanas are a little shorter than the typical iguana, standing between 3 and 4 feet long. Their white skin and pink eyes give them a very distinctive appearance. Despite their diminutive size, they are nevertheless highly powerful reptiles that need to be handled carefully.

Native Region/Habitat

Native to South America, Central America, Caribbean, and Mexico’s tropical regions.

Behavior:

Iguanas are primarily herbivores and are active during the day, eating fruit, flowers, and leaves.

Care As a pet/In captivity:

They nearly share the same habitat and nutritional requirements. More shade to hide in from the sun should be the only thing you take into account while housing an albino iguana. The finest enclosure, however, is a screen cage with branches for climbing and leaves for shade till they grow up, if you must keep it indoors. When they reach adulthood, you might have to move them to a bigger tank. Moreover, albino iguanas require a diet rich in calcium and vitamin D3.
