Appearance
Sheep from Rambouillet are large and attractive animals. Rams have much larger, curved horns than ewes, who also have horns.
The Rambouillet rams are large animals with average live mature body weights ranging from 113 to 135 kg. The adult ewes’ typical live body weight ranges from 68 to 90 kg.
Origin
Domestic sheep from France include the Rambouillet breed. The French Merino and the Rambouillet Merino are other names for it.
Temperament and Purpose
There is a good reason why the Rambouillet sheep breed is so well-liked. These sheep are excellent agricultural animals because of their numerous wonderful characteristics. Rambouillets are excellent for meat and wool, and they are also friendly and docile, making them suitable as pets or for exhibition.
Care
Rambouillets should ideally be sheared twice a year, at the very least. Wool from these sheep grows quickly, and the more frequently you shear them, the better the wool will be. Shearing can also assist avoid problems like flystrike, a disease that Rambouillets and other heavy wool bearers are prone to.
Food
Grass, bushes, sedge, and herbs make up the diet.
