Goldeneye Cichlid

Goldeneye Cichlid

Size

2-3 inches.

Physical Appearance and Characteristics

Only when the animal is calm do the animal’s bands, which are bluish-green, become apparent. In some, the female’s orange-brown body has a black stripe running the length of it. The males have longer dorsal and anal fins. a little, calm cichlid that resides in the tank’s center. This species reproduces sexually in pairs and is an example of a substrate spawning species that prefers to raise its young in a cave.

Common goldfish can also endure temperatures of at least 90°F when kept in adequate depths of water and shade. Although a heater is not required for indoor installations, it is nevertheless advisable to maintain a reasonable water temperature. Although goldfish may endure pH values outside of this range, 7.0 to 8.4 is the ideal pH range for tanks.

Habitat

Sandy bottoms, lots of hiding places (such clay pots, driftwood, and rock formations), and a warm, sunny area are the ideal aquarium settings for Golden Dwarf Cichlids.

Keeping as Pet

  • Tank Size

To keep this species, the aquarium must be at least 20 gallons/90 L in size. Using a smaller tank as a breeding aquarium can be acceptable. Golden dwarf cichlid aquariums should be furnished with lush flora, tunnels, and rocks. Also may make caves out of coconuts or little clay pots. The aquarium ought to have spacious spaces where the fish can swim around without restriction.

  • Temperature and pH

This species, which is resilient and tolerant of a wide range of water conditions, prefers water with a pH of 6 to 8 and a temperature of 24 to 25 °C (75 to 77 °F). Even though this species can survive less-than-ideal conditions, high water quality is strongly advised. A turnover of around 2-3 times the water volume every hour is typically sufficient, but this also depends on how many fish and what other species keep in the aquarium. Avoid extremely vigorous circulation in the tank.

  • Tank mates

Some cichlid species can become aggressive and territorial as they mature. Larger cichlids can eat small fish; keep with similar size fish. Some species, like ram cichlids, have peaceful temperaments and may do well in a community aquarium.
